Rural West Ireland, 1993. An innocent black cat named Wee Thomas has been murdered. Unfortunately, he belongs to a short-tempered IRA member named Padraic who enjoys a spot of torture. Violence, eating shoe polish and moral debates about shooting cows ensue as Padraic returns home in search of who has killed his only friend in the world.

Martin McDonagh is among the most acclaimed living Irish playwrights. His notable works for the stage include The Pillowman and The Beauty Queen of Leenane. In addition, McDonagh has received critical acclaim for his films In Bruges, Seven Psychopaths & Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, the latter of which won three BAFTA Awards and two Golden Globe Awards in 2018.
